All's Fair In Love And War (Raphael x Reader) pt.1

(your P.O.V.)

I stand on the edge off a roof with my foot up on the short wall, waiting for Karai to announce the beginning of my training session. Apparently, Karai's father, the Shredder, has granted her permission to start training her own ninjas, and, for some unknown reason, she has chosen me. Maybe it's because we have alot in common, such as deceased mothers, rough fathers, and humongous attitudes. Or maybe it's because we're good friends even though I'm a year younger than her. Anyway, at the moment, I'm trying to ignore the bragging of the mutated Xever. The Brazilian thief, though quite a few years older than I (he's in his late teens or early twenties, I'm not entirely sure) , seems to be in love with me and will not take "go away" for an answer. As I tune Xever out, my mind wanders to the happenings of my past few training sessions. Almost every one has included a run-in with four man-sized mutant turtles who claim to be the students of Shredder's archenemy Splinter. I can't remember any of the turtles' names.................except for the red-masked turtle that has caught my eye. His name I not only know, but have burned into my head and heart. Raphael. I feel a chill run up my spine every time I hear, read, or think it. Xever notices the small, sweet smile that graces my lips as I hope for another run-in. "What are you thinking about (name)?" I jump a little when he interrupts my precious thoughts. "Oh......um........n-nothing..................?" The fish-boy gives me a bored glare."I know that is not true. What is going on in that pretty head of yours?" I turn to look at him, which proves to be a huge mistake. He immediately knows exactly what's going on. "You've GOT to be kidding me!!!!!! You like one of the turtles?!?!?!" I shrug. "Whichever one he is, he's the enemy. You cannot be with him!!!"

I smirk a little as take in the fact that he only uses the enemy excuse and not the human one. The truth is, the human excuse is obsolete. Why, you ask? The answer is quite simple. I'm not human. I'm a mutant. I don't look the part, I look quite normal, so you wouldn't know unless you fought me. Or caught me without my shoes or gloves. Some mutants lose fingers or toes, but I, sadly, gained a few. Each of my fingers, minus my thumb, had split into two separate smaller fingers when I mutated. Same with my toes, minus the big toe. So yes, I have nine fingers on each hand, and nine toes on each foot. Gross, right? But while my strange mutation has the extra appendages as a con, it also came with a major pro: unbridled strength. That's right, I'm as strong as the Hulk! Maybe even stronger; who knows? My thoughts are once again interrupted, this time by Karai. She's spotted the turtles, and has ordered an attack.

We take the turtles by surprise, and I pounce on the one nearest me. I land with butterflies in my stomach, cobwebs in my head, and no control of my body.

(Raph's P.O.V.)

My brothers and I run and flip over rooftops, searching for any sign of the Kraang or the Foot, when Karai, DogPound, FishFace, and Karai's new trainee, (name), attack. I've never actually fought (name) before, Donnie or Mikey usually took her on, but I get a generous (I'm being sarcastic here) split second to react before (name) tackles me. My head hits the roof hard after the (hair color)-haired kunoichi tackles me. I watch her carefully, waiting for her to move and give me an opportunity to get her off. But she does nothing, other than stare at me, wide-eyed, with her glinting (eye color) orbs. My gaze meets hers, and I get this weird feeling in my chest. I don't understand it, and it makes me angry, so I struggle against this strange girl. But she has me pinned, and good. I don't know how she does it. She looks like a normal human girl, but seems to have the strength of ten DogPounds! I look back up and her and notice that her head seems to be coming down toward mine. It's like she's gonna kiss me or something!

Then FishFace grabs her and pulls her off of me. If she had held on, I would've been jerked up with her. But, for some reason, she didn't. She let me go. Her allies have been defeated by my brothers, and FishFace carries her off. Her (eye color) eyes never leave my green ones.............neither of us can look away......................and......I'm not sure if she got to me by trying to kiss me or if I got to her simply by existing.... My brothers surround me, all talking at once. Leo gives me the evil eye. "Looks like you were having some fun with (name), Raph." I roll my eyes at him. "Yeah right. The girl was cutting off my circulation. Most definately NOT fun." ...................................................................Actually......................I find (name) kinda hot.......and I kinda wish FishFace hadn't taken her away so soon..........but there's no way I'm telling LEO that!

We headed home after a while, and I immediately went to my room. I MEANT to go to sleep, but instead I lay awake all night, thinking about (name) and almost wishing she had gotten a chance to come the rest of the way.

(your P.O.V.)

After reporting to Master Shredder, Xever starts yelling at me. "IDIOTA!!!! WHAT DID I TELL YOU?!?!?! THE TURTLES ARE OUR ENEMIES!!!!!!!!!!!" He facepalms. "And out of all of them, you went for Raphael." He suddenly perks up a bit. "Hey! He and I are a lot alike!" I glare at him. "Never in a million years, Xever." I turn away from Xever, arms crossed, and lean on doorway, looking out into the city. But Xever isn't quite ready to let it go yet. "How can you fall for one of our enemies?! This isn't some petty argument!! This is WAR!!" My eyes slide around and land on a stoplight that has its green light lit. "All's fair in love and war."

( Xever: ) "LOVE?!?!?!?!"
